Put A Stop To Sexual Assault This Month

Increase Awareness,  During Sexual Assault & Prevention Month

It is terrible but true. Every two minutes, someone in the United States in sexually assaulted. How do we raise awareness about this awful reality and equip people to prevent it? April is Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, so here are a few suggestions that we can do to increase sexual assault awareness and work towards preventing sexual assault.

  • Get involved at a local rape crisis center to become more aware of the issues and perhaps participate in some of the healing with proper training and education.
  • Spread awareness that there is a National Sexual Assault Hotline run by the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network that people can call to connect with someone who understands their situation and can help. The number for that hotline is (800) 656-HOPE.
  • Use our social media platform to remind people that they do not have to live in shame and silence if they have been or are being sexually assaulted.

Whatever we might do to participate in Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, we hope that we continue our important efforts well beyond April. To catch up on the latest from The Maria Sanchez Show, download the latest podcast today.
