Can We Get Behind Turn Off Your TV Month?

tv turned off

Here’s a challenge for this month, let’s reduce our screen time in April.

April is Turn Off Your TV Month, a grassroots movement that creates awareness of the adverse effects of excessive screen time.  Studies have shown that the average American family spends approximately four to five hours a day watching television. This overindulgence is linked to severe issues such as childhood obesity and delayed educational development.

There are many ways that we can participate in this month.  For instance, we can take the challenge not to watch any television for an entire week. Participating in this challenge offers an excellent opportunity for us to spend time with our loved ones and explore other fun hobbies that do not include sitting in front of the TV.  For instance, we can spend more time reading, exercising, cooking, or starting a new hobby.

Join us at The Maria Sanchez Show as we participate inthis Turn Off Your TV Month.  Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown.  Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
