Fun Ideas for This American Family Day

Here’s some information about American Family Day!

American Family Day falls on the first Sunday of every August.  This occasion was first established in the state of Arizona in 1977.  However, it has since grown in popularity, and many other states now observe it as well.  As the name suggests, American Family Day is dedicated to spending time with our loved ones and making wonderful memories to last a lifetime.  For those of us looking to have a fun and exciting American Family Day, here are some of the ideas that we could try.

  • Host a Picnic

With the weather still warm and inviting, hosting a family picnic is a great way to celebrate American Family Day.  To host an ideal event, we suggest packing delicious food and drinks for our loved ones to enjoy.  To make it even easier, perhaps we could consider making the event a potluck. Everyone participates by bringing a dish to share or a beverage and that takes the burden off of just one person or family.  We could also set up outdoor games such as volleyball, soccer, football, and badminton for the perfect way to have fun and bond with our families.

  • Hold a Family Game Night

Another entertaining way to celebrate American Family Day is by hosting a family game night.  This is a pretty simple idea because all we need to do is provide some munchies and beverages, set up classic board games, or boot up your favorite gaming system for an afternoon or an evening of fun competition.

  • Take a Family Vacation

For those of us with more time on our hands, American Family Day offers an ideal opportunity to take a family vacation.  Whether we stay local or travel to a far flung location, let’s place the emphasis on bonding and togetherness to ensure that our vacations are all about enjoying family time.  Staycations are a hassle free alternative to traveling. They save on cost and convenience and allow us to be guests in our own communities.

We at The Maria Sanchez Show hope you will join us as we celebrate this American Family Day. Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown. Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
