Father’s Day & Summer Solstice Are On The Same Day!

Father's Day and Summer Solstice

Celebrate June 21st With Dad & Sunshine

Father’s Day is just around the corner. Oh, wait. So is the summer solstice!

On June 21st, we have the chance to celebrate dad and the changing seasons because it marks both Father’s Day and the first day of summer.

On the summer solstice, we get the longest day of the year because the sun is directly overhead of the Tropic of Cancer at noon. Fortunately, all of that extra sunlight can be used to celebrate dad. If you are stumped on what to do for Father’s Day, here are a few ideas.

  • Breakfast In Bed: This go-to gift for Mother’s Day can be a great way to start dad’s day off right. Whip up his favorite breakfast foods, arrange them on a tray, and finish off the presentation with a handwritten note.
  • Water Day: Whether dad likes to fish, water ski, or just enjoy a cold one by the water, he will love having the chance to spend his day soaking up the sun either on the water’s edge or on a boat.
  • Home Movies: Sure, you could take dad out to the movies, but you can make it extra personal by staying in instead. Others may groan at old family videos but who better to enjoy those memories with than the father that helped create them with you?

The Maria Sanchez Show sends a big thank you to all of the dads out there for all of your hard work! We hope you have fun celebrating the summer sun!
