Join Us in Celebrating Disneyland’s Birthday with These Fun Facts That May Be of Interest to Us

Here are some interesting tidbits that we’d like to share about Disneyland.

Disney is an international name recognized by billions of people across the world. From cartoons to full-length films to theme parks, Disney has built an entertainment empire. The first Disney park opened on July 17, 1955. Join us in learning more about the history of Disneyland.

  • Walt Disney chose 160 acres of orange groves in Anaheim, California to build a playground for adults and children to enjoy a land full of all things Disney. Subsequently, the $17 million Disneyland park was built.  A little-known fact is that then actor, Ronald Reagan presided over the opening day events.
  • Disneyland’s success continues bringing in more than $3 billion dollars annually nearly 65 years after its creation. In fact, Disneyland inspired the creation of Disney parks across the globe.

About the Icon know as Walt Disney.

Mr. Walt Disney was a motion-picture and television producer and showman; he is famous not only as the creator of Disneyland but also as a pioneer of cartoon films.  Early in his life, he showed an interest and talent in drawing and painting, and he actually sold his creations to his neighbors!


Walter Elias “Walt” Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Hermosa, Illinois. He and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions, which became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world. Disney was an innovative animator and created and voiced the cartoon character Mickey Mouse. It is often overlooked that he won 22 Academy Awards during his lifetime.
