Celebrate with Your Brothers and Sisters—It’s National Sibling Day

Let’s thank our siblings this National Sibling Day.

As the name suggests, National Sibling Day is about celebrating the relationship we have with our brothers and sisters.  Sometimes our greatest rivals and often our best friends, the connection between siblings is something completely unique and hopefully is cherished.  In recognition of this National Sibling Day, we’d like to suggest that it might be lovely to reach out to our brothers and sisters and let them know how much we love and appreciate them.

In honor of this National Sibling Day, here are some funny and sweet quotes about the sibling relationship.

“Sisters and brothers are the truest, purest forms of love, family, and friendship, knowing when to hold you and when to challenge you, but always being a part of you.” — Carol Ann Albright-Eastman

“The mildest, drowsiest sister has been known to turn into a tiger if her sibling is in trouble.” – Clara Ortega

“Children of the same family, the same blood, with the same first associations and habits, have some means of enjoyment in their power, which no subsequent connections can supply.” – Jane Austen

“Brothers and sisters can say things to one another that no one else can.” – Gregory E. Lang

“Sibling relationships…outlast marriages, survive the death of parents, resurface after quarrels that would sink any friendship. They flourish in a thousand incarnations of closeness and distance, warmth, loyalty, and distrust.” – Erica E. Goode

“Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk.” – Susan Scarf Merrell

“A sibling may be the keeper of one’s identity, the only person with the keys to one’s unfettered, more fundamental self.” – Marian Sandmaier

“Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring – quite often the hard way.” – Pamela Dugdale

“The greatest gift our parents ever gave us was each other.” – Unknown
