How Yoga Benefits Our Health

Here’s why yoga is such a great form of exercise.

September is National Yoga Month.  A major goal of this month is recognizing the health benefits that have been attributed with practicing yoga.  Here are some of the ways that we may improve our physical and mental health by giving yoga a try.

The beginnings of Yoga were developed by the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5,000 years ago.  Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines.  Yoga is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophical traditions.
