Get Your Heels On and Celebrate Women’s Equality Day

Ladies, August 26th is our time to shine so let’s acknowledge how much we’ve progressed by celebrating Women’s Equality Day. The 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote, was ratified on August 18, 1920 and this is a day set aside to revel in that.

Celebrate Women’s Equality Day however you’d like, today is the day that we rock. If you are not already a registered voter, register now and embrace your right to vote. Make a donation to the places that support girl power such as the Girl Scouts (disclaimer, I’m on the Board of the Girl Scouts)  or get friends together to watch some movies or documentaries that honor the great women that helped to make this happen.

The Women’s Rights Movement is still going on today but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate the huge strides that have already been taken for the equality of men and women. This August is the perfect time to appreciate all the opportunities that are now available to us, as a society, as a whole.
