Use your manners during National Thank You Month

Danke! Merci! Gracias! Thank you! It doesn’t matter what language you speak, all of these words have the same meaning – gratitude. Remind yourself to be gracious in January and take part in the National Thank You Month celebration.

I can remember back to when my parents would remind me to use my manners. I bet you do too. They were always saying “What do you say?” and “Don’t forget to say ‘thank you.’” Not only were our parents teaching us to be nice, they were showing us how being grateful can make us feel better.

Showing appreciation and by simply saying “thank you” creates a pleasurable experience for both you and the recipient. These types of experiences release a natural dopamine rush, making you feel good. These feelings also help reduce the amount of stress you feel.

Join me today by randomly thanking someone you see. Use your manners and by the end of the day you will be feeling better by sharing your gratitude with others.
