The Maria Sanchez Show Honors Sir Winston Churchill

We’d like to share some information about a famous figure in British and American history, Sir Winston Churchill.

On April 9th, 1963 Churchill achieved something that no other historic figure before him had ever done and that’s become an honorary American citizen. This honor was bestowed on Churchill posthumously of course, and so every year on this day we celebrate Winston Churchill Day.

Churchill will always be remembered for his service as the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister from 1940 through 1945, and once again in 1951 through 1955.

Churchill was known and well respected for his stirring war-time leadership and his courage and resolve to spur the British military onto many well fought victories.

One of Churchill’s more appreciated traits was his ability to stir enthusiasm through his words. His notable quotes are the words that are often remembered by many historians.

Some of Churchill’s most notable quotes include:

  • “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”
  • “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”
  • “Never, never, never give up.”
  • “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
