How Will We Celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day?

How Will We Celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day?

During Random Acts of Kindness Week, today stands out as an opportunity to spread goodness.

Let’s turn the world kind! That’s the goal of Random Acts of Kindness Week, which started on the 12th and ends tomorrow. Today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, which stands out as an opportunity for all of us to take action.

Need some ideas to celebrate? We can help! Here is a handful of ways we can all celebrate today.

  • When you’re waiting in line at the grocery store or coffee shop, let the person behind you go ahead of you. If you can afford it, offer to buy their groceries or coffee.
  • Tip your server as much as you can.
  • Bring cookies to your local fire station, school, rest home, etc.
  • Leave a nice note on someone’s windshield.
  • Buy a dozen flowers and hand them out to strangers.
  • Call up a friend you haven’t talked to in a while.
  • Offer to help a friend with a bothersome chore like raking the yard or taking out the trash.

“Our research found that the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Week.  The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded upon the powerful belief in kindness and dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness.

In New Zealand, where this day originated, Random Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated on September 1st.  It is also recognized by some on other days throughout the year; however, doing random acts of kindness is something that can be done everyday of the year.

A Few Quotes of Kindness:

  • “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear, and the blind can see.” (Mark Twain)
  • “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” (Aesop)
  • “Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.” (Scott Adams)
  • “Kind words and actions can seem so small, but their effects are truly endless.” (Author Unknown)”
