Help Us Observe National Suicide Prevention Month This September

Spread awareness and learn how you can do your part to help end suicide this month.

Suicide is a tragic epidemic that is growing throughout the world.  The goal of National Suicide Prevention Month is to raise awareness for this devastating problem and to offer education on how to prevent it.  Here are some ways to observe National Suicide Prevention Month.

-Educate yourself.  Learn how you can identify those who are at risk for suicide.  Also make sure that you are aware of prevention resources such a suicide hotlines and professional therapy.

-Don’t be afraid to speak up.  If you think that someone you know might be at risk for suicide, don’t avoid speaking to them about it.  Let them know that you are there for them and offer them support.  If necessary, do not hesitate to contact emergency services.

-Get help.  If you are having suicidal thoughts, please seek help.  Tell a loved one or a health professional how you’re feeling.  Every life is worth living, especially yours.

If you or a loved one is having suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
