How to Manage Your Stress on National Stress Awareness Day

Check out our tips to help you de-stress on National Stress Awareness Day.

It seems as if we’ve developed such hectic lives these days. Running from meeting to meeting and driving our kids to soccer practice, it’s no wonder most of us are pretty stressed out. But, too much stress can be detrimental to our health and lead to serious issues such as heart disease or depression. We’d like to invite you to join us in taking better control of our health on National Stress Awareness Day on November 4. Check out our top tips to help deal with stress.

Laugh More.

When it comes to our health, laughing is a great thing. When we laugh, the chemicals released in our brain help to reduce stress levels. Additionally, laughter helps to improve our cardiovascular health by reducing artery inflammation and boosting good cholesterol.


Mental health is extraordinarily important, and mediation is a great tool to help clear our minds. Practicing even five minutes of deep breathing or meditation can significantly help to reduce our stress levels.

Other Suggestions. 

Work out our triggers: Working out what triggers stress for us can help us anticipate problems and think of ways to solve them. Even if we can’t avoid these situations, being prepared can help.

Consider changing how we plan our time: For example, list things in order of importance, try not to do too much at once and plan lots of breaks.

Perhaps address some of the causes: There are probably lots of things in our lives that we can’t do anything about, there might still be some practical ways we could resolve or improve some of the pressures we experience.

Try and accept some of the things we can’t change: It’s not easy but accepting that there are some things happening to us that we probably can’t do anything about might help us focus our time and energy more productively.
