Thanks, Mom and Dad! It’s National Parents Day

Thanks Mom and Dad! It’s National Parents Day

We’d like to invite you to join us as we express our gratitude for National Parents Day.

As we celebrated our mothers in May and our fathers in June, it makes sense that we would celebrate both parents in July.  Today is National Parents Day, a day dedicated to showing our appreciation for the people who have raised, protected, and provided for us.  In recognition of National Parents Day, let’s try out these simple ways to show our parents how much we love and care for them.

Create a Scrapbook

One sweet way that we can celebrate National Parents Day is by creating a scrapbook that documents favorite family memories we have with our parents.  We can include old family photos and write little captions of our memories of the event taking place in the photo.  At the end of the scrapbook, we could include a heartfelt letter thanking our parents and acknowledging everything that they have done for us throughout our lives.

Offer Our Assistance Around the House

When we were young, our parents worked hard to balance work and personal responsibilities while raising us.  Now that we are older and we hopefully appreciate the sacrifices our parents made, it’s time to offer an opportunity to return the privilege to them for their efforts.  Today’s National Parents Day we suggest doing whatever we can to help our parents around the home.  Whether they need help repairing the roof, keeping up with yard work, or taking care of other household chores, we might want to volunteer to help in any way that we can.  While we can never truly repay our parents for everything that they have done for us, this is a good place to start.

Spend Some Quality Time with Them

Perhaps one of the easiest, yet most meaningful ways to show our appreciation is by simply spending some time with our parents.  There’s no need to make fancy dinner reservations or whisk them away on some luxury vacation.  Simply sitting down with them, sharing a family meal, flipping through photo albums and having a meaningful conversation is enough to show our love and respect for the people who have given everything to raise us.
