March Is Red Cross Month

If you, or someone you love, has ever needed a blood transfusion or have ever suffered in the wake of a natural disaster or other state of emergency, then you understand perfectly the important work of the American Red Cross. In fact, workers and volunteers assist American military troops and their families, perform humanitarian work to enhance the lives of disaster victims all across the country as well as in foreign lands and perform first aid, water safety and HIV/AIDS education services.

The month of March has been declared Red Cross Month, and we at The Maria Sanchez Show could not be happier to spread the news about this important organization. Critical skills training (including CPR training) is available through the American Red Cross on a regular basis. However, during Red Cross Month, additional CPR trainings will happen throughout the Capital Region each weekend. These trainings are hands-only (no mouth-to-mouth) CPR trainings; further, demonstrations on the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) will be held. You can also download a practical reminder to your smartphones with the Red Cross Mobile Apps.

According to the Red Cross, every two (2) seconds in America, someone needs blood. This month, we urge you to donate blood or to organize a blood drive to get the word out. Who knows, you just might save a life.
