Let’s Get Physical! Workout Tips for 2019

Here are some suggestions to get into better shape this year.

The new year is a time to reflect on our lives and make resolutions to help us improve in the areas that we are lacking. For those of us who set a goal to get into shape this year, one of the things that we may consider is step up our exercise regimens. Here are some suggestions that we might try to stay dedicated to our fitness goals.

Schedule Regular Workouts

Life can get hectic, and when things start piling up, it’s easy to justify missing our workouts. However, if we want to set a better precedent for the year, then it’s suggested that we make exercise a priority in our lives. An easy way to accomplish this is by actually scheduling regular workouts into our days. When we set aside this time to work out, it’s much harder to cancel our plans or make excuses for why we should skip. We become a priority on our calendar, not just something that we squeeze in around everything else that we also must do.

Find Workout Partners

Motivating ourselves to get to the gym after a long day of work is often difficult. However, when we have partners to exercise with, it’s likely we will have an easier time staying motivated. Having partners by our sides can make the time we spend working out more enjoyable. Additionally, when we have people to offer us support and hold us accountable, we will likely have an easier time keeping our normal exercise commitment.

Try a Variety of Physical Activities

Finally, when we are trying to get into the habit of working out, it’s important that we try out a variety of activities to see what we like. While regular gym sessions may work for some of us, others may prefer taking organized fitness classes or participating in other forms of exercise like playing sports. Trying out a variety of different activities and settling on the ones that we enjoy most will make exercising a more positive experience.

Enjoy Mother Nature and Get Outside

Personally, I’m not a gym person. I exercise seven days a week with my rescue pup outdoors. I enjoy the brisk morning air, even the rain, and always feel better both during our hikes and thereafter. We don’t have to be indoors to get in shape or stay in shape.
