We Invite you to Join Us as We Observe National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among females.  My mother was diagnosed over ten years ago and had a problematic mastectomy but she is alive today!  One of my sons has been operated on for breast cancer in both of his breasts. This is deeply personal for me. Many other families are deeply affected as well because over 246,660 American women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.  This month, we’d like to do our part and create more awareness for this devastating diagnosis.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual campaign created to increase awareness and spread educational material about breast cancer.  One goal of this month is to promote mammograms as one of the most effective weapons to fight breast cancer.  Because mammograms are programmed to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month invites women to schedule their annual mammogram and take a vested interest in their breast health.

During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we can get involved by donating to breast cancer organizations or research initiatives.  Additionally, we can organize or attend a fundraiser that supports breast cancer research.  Finally, one of the simplest ways to get involved this October is to wear the famous pink ribbon that signifies our support of the fight against breast cancer. Please join us!

Join us at The Maria Sanchez Show as we continue to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown.  Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
