Let’s Do Our Civic Duty This National Voter Registration Day

Get ready for the next election this National Voter Registration Day.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, a national occasion celebrating our right to democracy. National Voter Registration Day started in response to the fact that millions of Americans are unable to vote because they have missed the registration deadline, failed to update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. On National Voter Registration Day, volunteers across the country work to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to cast their vote. Various organizations will take to the streets in a show of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts to encourage people to register to vote.

To get involved this National Voter Registration Day, we can attend or host a local registration event. We can find a list of events near us HERE. For those of us interested in hosting our events, we just need to make sure that we register it HERE so other people can attend and participate as well.

Perhaps the easiest way to honor this National Voter Registration Day is simply by making certain that we are registered properly as a voter. We can, of course, register at an event or with a volunteer. However, there are other options as well. For those of us who would like the convenience and security of registering online, then we can do so HERE.

Join us at The Maria Sanchez Show as we do our civic duty and participate in National Voter Registration Day.  Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown.  Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
