Let’s Celebrate This Respect for Parents Day

family generations

We invite you to join us and show our parents some respect.

August 1st is Respect for Parent’s Day and, as the name suggests, this day is about recognizing everything that our parents may have done for us and offering them the respect that they may deserve.  Marilyn Dalrymple, the creator of this annual designation, explains that Respect for Parents day isn’t just about children honoring their parents. It’s also about recognizing the value that parents have in society.

By observing this occasion we can honor our parents by telling them why we appreciate them. We may also use this occasion to enjoy some of these thoughtful quotes on how good parents have life-changing impacts.

“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents.”— Jane D. Hull

“Our parents deserve our honor and respect for giving us life itself. Beyond this they almost always made countless sacrifices as they cared for and nurtured us through our infancy and childhood, provided us with the necessities of life, and nursed us through physical illnesses and the emotional stresses of growing up.”— Ezra Taft Benson

“The depth of the love of parents for their children cannot be measured. It is like no other relationship. It exceeds concern for life itself. The love of a parent for a child is continuous and transcends heartbreak and disappointment.”— James E. Faust

“First your parents, they give you your life, but then they try to give you their life.”— Chuck Palahniuk

“Love your parents. We are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old.”– Unknown

“Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first.”— Matthew Jacobson

“A child who is allowed to be disrespectful to his parents will not have true respect for anyone.”– Billy Graham

“A good father is a source of inspiration and self-restraint. A good mother is the root of kindness and humbleness.”– Dr. T. P. Chia
