Let’s Celebrate Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Let’s show our kids what we do at work today!

In the United States, the fourth Thursday of April is celebrated as Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.  While this observance was originally dedicated to taking our daughters to work, this occasion has now been expanded to include boys in 2003.  On this day, parents are encouraged to take their children to work to encourage their interest in different careers and workplace opportunities.

This year, the theme for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is “Workforce Development for All.”  Today, employers and parents alike are encouraged to teach children the importance of developing workplace skills.  For instance, we could offer our children insight into the process of building and maintaining dependable teams and highlight the important role that every employee plays in a company’s overall success.  By encouraging our employers to participate in this commemoration, we can offer our children the opportunity to start developing interpersonal skills and gain an understanding of responsibility and dependability.

We at The Maria Sanchez Show hope you join us as we celebrate this Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.  Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown. Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
