Lend a Hand! It’s National Volunteer Month

Lend a Hand! It’s National Volunteer Month

Let’s show our thanks this National Volunteer Month.

In America, volunteerism is instilled at a young age.  It is encouraged in schools, passed from parent to child, and considered a cornerstone of many after-school programs and clubs.  The positive effects of America’s volunteers are seen throughout the country.  Without the hard work and dedication of volunteers, many small towns, rural communities, and even the largest cities would struggle to function.  From anonymous volunteers to those who volunteer as part of larger national organizations, such as the American Red Cross, we should all make an effort to show our gratitude towards volunteers this National Volunteer Month.  Here’s how we can show our thanks.

Say Thank You

The most obvious way to show our thanks is by simply telling a volunteer “thank you.”  Almost every one of us personally knows someone dedicated to volunteering, so let’s take this opportunity to tell them how grateful we are for their selfless service and hard work.

Another easy way to show our thanks this month is by taking it upon ourselves to volunteer as well.  By dedicating ourselves to a worthwhile cause we can show our support to our fellow volunteers.  Additionally, we might even inspire others to volunteer as well.

Post on Social Media

Finally, we can all take to social media to express our thanks for volunteers and to encourage others to get involved as well.  Let’s make sure to tag our posts with #NationalVolunteerMonth, to spread appreciation for all of America’s fantastic volunteers.
