Join Us as We Get Fit This National Women’s Health and Fitness Day

Let’s get moving this National Women’s Health and Fitness Day!

The last Wednesday in September is marked as the annual National Women’s Health and Fitness Day. This day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages, and it focuses on raising awareness for the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. By recognizing the importance of this day, we’d like to suggest that we all make an effort to prioritize our physical health. Here are some of the things that we can do to get involved in this National Women’s Health and Fitness Day.

  • Try a new sport: After a while, the same old exercise routine can become boring. This is why we could consider changing things up by trying to learn a new sport or signing up for a new type of exercise class. Who knows, we might just find our new favorite physical activity!
  • Load up on superfoods: Superfoods are foods that are known to be nutritionally dense and especially good for one’s health. This is why it’s advisable to make an effort to incorporate more superfoods into our daily diets. Some of the superfoods that we can consider to include are blueberries, kale, acai, broccoli, spinach, and beets to name a few.
  • Workout with friends: Sometimes is can be difficult to stay motivated. This is why some folks have success by inviting a family member, friend, or neighbor, or spouse/partner, to join our regular workouts. When we have someone holding us accountable, we will have an easier time putting in those hours at the gym or on the hiking trails.
  • Stay hydrated: Getting enough water is also an important part of staying healthy. It’s important to do our best to meet our daily hydration goals and also eat water-rich foods such as watermelon, grapefruit, celery, and cucumber to further supplement our hydration levels.

Get a check-up– Finally, this National Women’s Health and Fitness Day, if we haven’t had an annual appointment with our physician, now is a great time to schedule one to ensure that we are in good health. Not only will getting a check-up alert us to any potential health issues, but we can also speak to our doctors about what we can do to be healthier in the future. By putting together a health action plan, we can make our health a priority.
