February Is National Parent Leadership Month

February is a Month of Many Splendid Things.

February has many accolades to its name (e.g. American Heart Month, Black History Month), but one of its lesser-known titles is also one of its most important. This month marks National Parent Leadership Month.

National Parent Leadership Month provides individuals, families, communities, and governments the opportunity to celebrate parent leadership and seek out opportunities to help parents build the strongest, safest family possible.

In today’s busy world, it can be easy to think that parenting is just a “given” and disregard how incredibly important this role is. Let this month remind you, though, that parent is one of the most important titles a human can assume. Do not forget the great power that comes with being a parent, and celebrate those who are using that power to better the lives of their children and the world.

National Parent Leadership Month, designed by Parents Anonymous, is a time to recognize, honor, and celebrate parents for their vital leadership roles in their homes and communities. This annual event was also designed to raise awareness about the importance of the roles parents play in shaping the lives of their children. Parents Anonymous Inc. is an organization founded in 1969 and is dedicated to strengthening families by preventing child abuse and neglect around the world.

What will you do to celebrate National Parent Leadership Month? I hope you find a way to honor the great parents you know this February. To catch up on the latest from The Maria Sanchez Show, download the latest podcast today.
