It’s Lights Out for Earth Hour – Learn About Conservation and the Environment

Learn About Conservation and the Environment During Earth Hour

We invite you to come participate in Earth Hour with us at The Maria Sanchez Show.

Climate change is at the forefront of some of the most pressing global issues. Join us in being conscious about climate change and the conservation efforts that come along with it during Earth Hour on March 25. This international event encourages us to help conserve energy across the globe. We would like to invite you to learn how we can participate in this event together as a community.

About Earth Hour.

Earth Hour is a grassroots movement started by the World Wide Fund for Nature in 2007. The movement has grown from its humble beginnings in Sydney, Australia to span across the globe. Each year, more than 4,000 cities participate in Earth Hour to join conservation efforts and raise awareness about climate change.

How to Participate.

Join us in participating in Earth Hour by turning off all necessary lights and electronics on March 25 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.

www.wwf.panda.org offers the following advice.  “It is suggested that if we act now, we can overcome the threat of climate change, and create a fairer and more sustainable world in which energy from efficient and renewable resources will cover the needs of all people. The solutions exist.  Climate change poses a fundamental threat to everything we love. Melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and new and more frequent weather extremes will leave no continent untouched. Impacts are already being felt by many communities and ecosystems worldwide. Water supplies are shrinking, crop yields are dropping, forests are burning, and our oceans are becoming more acidic. This has huge implications for our livelihoods and human security.

The task and hand is managing the unavoidable impacts and, at the same time, mitigating the impact of future climate impacts.”

Let’s help make a difference and turn our planet around!
