Earth Day Tips to Go Green and Help Us Make a Difference

Earth Day Tips to Go Green and Help Us Make a Difference

We’d love to have you join us in participating in Earth Day with these suggestions to be more environmentally-friendly.

The environment plays a vital role in our lives. From having clean water to drink, and clean air to breathe, to preserving our natural landscapes, we feel that it’s important that we take good care of our world, our environment. Please join us and celebrate the earth in taking action to protect it on Earth Day. On April 22, we invite you to join us as we participate in Earth Day with these easy ways to go green.

Invest in Reusable Products.

From water bottles to plastic bags, let’s opt for reusable versions. When we choose to use reusable products, we’re better able to minimize waste and the gross amounts of products that get dumped in our landfills.  Personally, I purchase a case of bottled water.  I drink one, and then I refill it 2 or 3 times with distilled water.  I then recycle said plastic bottle.  In other words, it was purchased and then repurposed.  I also avail myself of containers that I can reuse and wash in scalding hot water to sanitize them for my next consumption.

www.earthday.org is a terrific resource.  Please check them out and see if you too can help to make a difference in Mother Earth.

Here is an excerpt from the above site, Earth Day 2017’s Campaign is Environmental & Climate Literacy

Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection.

Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.

This Earth Day, gather with your community for an Environmental & Climate Literacy Teach-In or another project focused on education. We are launching Earth Day and Teach-In toolkits that will lay out the steps for holding a successful event. Register your event with us and we will support you with promotion and advice.

Plant a Tree.

Deforestation is a growing issue. However, we can help make a difference by planting more trees. Let’s get to work in our gardens or get involved with local organizations and get to planting.

Let’s go green so that we can help to protect the environment on Earth Day. Join us at The Maria Sanchez Show in learning more about how we can make an impact. Don’t forget to check out our latest program, Shadow Politics with Senator Michael D. Brown. Tune in on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT.
