Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which means it is time to help start putting an end to this terrible, yet frequently occurring abuse. Unfortunately, many that are involved in violent relationships are too afraid of financial consequences or being alone to leave the abusive individual. Therefore, it would be a huge help if we would stand together to show these individuals how much we support them.

Purple is the representative color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Therefore, we ask that you support the color all month long and tell others why you feel so strongly about the movement.

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) sponsors a variety of events and activities in support of the cause. One simple way in which we can support the movement is by changing our profile pictures to us wearing purple or to one of the many NNEDV social media posts. The more people that see this picture, the more interest and awareness we can create and hopefully make a difference in the lives of those affected.

Those who lost their lives to domestic violence and those who have survived those hardships deserve our recognition and support. Go purple!
