Clean Beach Awareness Week: How Can you Help

4th of July is the biggest beach day of the year. And July 1 through 7 is Clean Beaches Week. Since 2003, Clean Beaches Week has been called the “Earth Day” for beaches. The week-long event has four themes: recreation, food, travel and the environment. Beaches are such a vital part of the California landscape, and we at the Maria Sanchez Show want to do our part to keep our beaches clean and safe for all of us.

As part of this clean beach awareness initiative, folks are encouraged to take time to visit your favorite beach; eat healthy meals while visiting the beach; to pick up beach litter, and leave behind nothing but footprints; and to reduce your carbon footprint by getting out of your car, and walk, bike, carpool, and conserve as much as possible.

California’s beaches are jewels. Let’s take this holiday weekend to honor them, enjoy them, and keep them in pristine condition.

“The Maria Sanchez Show” is geared to current events, lifestyle, health and relationships – and as much good news as we can – as well as timely and topical topics. Check out the Maria Sanchez Show online and on Facebook.
