On April 10th, 1866, Henry Bergh Founded the ASPCA. In 1863, United States diplomat Henry Bergh was appointed a post in Russia. While there, he witnessed drivers beating their work horses. On his way back to the states, he visited London’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Those two events inspired him
